Artist Faerydae has taken the time to answer Eleven Questions for an Artist so that we may get to know her a little better...

What inspired you to create in this genre?

I've pretty much always have, from when I first started creating anything, from stories, to pictures, to comics.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

I don't rightly know. Sometimes it seems to come from inside and other times it seems like I'm just channeling it - I tend to call that when it happens, that it is my muse is speaking through me.

Are you self-taught or formally educated?

Self taught pretty much.

Do you create in a specific ‘art’ space, or just anywhere in the house that’s available?

Anywhere. I do have specific spaces, but, I'll make do wherever I am, pretty much.

What is your favorite medium to work with?

For years it was pencil. Right now it's polymer clay and watercolors. Might change though, who can say? :)

In what ways do you stretch yourself to make your work grow?

I try to force myself to try things that I am not comfortable doing and I try to experiment. I try to learn a little something from everyone and I am *always* studying the world around me, how light falls and affects things, drapes of fabrics, etc etc.

Who are the artists that inspire your work?

All of them! :)

What is the major venue you use to sell your work?

Currently eBay - but I am on pretty much any online venue I can be on.

Do you remember your first sale?

Yeah I was a kid. Sold a sexy elf chick to a guy in the 5th grade. I was in 4th.  I think I scored a buck.

What’s the most difficult thing about being an artist?

Being creatively productive and finishing what I start is my hardest things. I often wind up expending so much energy trying to help others that I do not always leave enough for myself. I am also notoriously slow and a perfectionist, so I have a hard time finishing things. It's less an issue on my 2D stuff, I can relax more with that - but sculpting? Geez. I'm really hard on myself.

Do you have a website, or other contact information for buyers to reach you?

I have a few websites, yup!

My personal art websites and blogs:

http://ElfWitch.com

http://HeebieJeebies.org

http://Dragonlings.com

Community sites that I either started or helped to start that are community sites for artists and collectors of those niches, themes, or mediums:

http://OOAKguild.com

http://FeyRealm.com

http://MermaidArtists.com

http://CollectibleACEOs.ning.com

http://DragonArt.ning.com

Faerydae encourages ANY collector to check out the community sites listed above, as there are AMAZING artists gathered at all of them!
