legends. Come back often because more terms will be added daily. This will be an online Grimoire,
a book of knowledge. An open magickal diary of sorts. You may agree with what is written here, or you may not--that
is your choice. Either way, you are always welcome. Whatever it is you are searching for, dear reader, I hope you

our goal here at SilverthornPress. Once again, welcome to our Grimoire. Please, grab a cup
of your favorite brew and sit for a spell... NOTE: The information on these pages is not meant

Skin Walker ♦
Navajo - yeenaaldlo oshii Refers to a person
with supernatural ability to turn into any animal he or she desires. It is a shapeshifter. More
specifically, for the Navajo the Yeenaaldlooshii (with it he goes on all fours) is a witch. This kind of witch is considered
a "practitioner of the Witchery Way". Skin Walkers are generally men. According to the Navajo, only
childless women can become witches.
The Witchery Way is evil. Those who are initiated into this way of life have broken all natural
and sacred laws. They harm instead of heal. They have essentially sold their souls to a darker power. It
is believed Skin Walkers have the ability to steal another person's skin, meaning they can possess another person's
body.
It is not
advisable to lock eyes with a Skin Walker because they can absorb themselves into your body easily. As those who have
encountered a Skin Walker will tell you, it is not a good idea to tell others of your experience with them. Just the
thought of doing so will bring them to your door. The Skin Walker will try to attack the family by breaking into the
house. At times there may be banging on walls, knocking on windows, and the Skin Walker may climb onto the roof.
Also, a strange animal like figure is seen standing outside the window peering in.
Although werewolves would be considered a type of Skin Walker,
the term is better used to describe a shape-shifter who is able to choose the animal he or she transforms into.
S.S Titan ♦
The S.S Titan was a luxury
liner that sank in 1898 on her maiden voyage after hitting an iceberg in the middle of the night. Most of her 2500 passengers
perished because there were not enough lifeboats. Does the story sound familiar? Are you thinking Titanic?
The S.S. Titan was not a real ship. It was a fictional ship in the book by author Morgan Robertson titled Futility or
The Wreck of the Titan. This poorly written book went unnoticed in 1898, fourteen years before the real life tragedy
of the Titanic.
Was it prophetic? It could have been. Mr. Robertson prided himself in his psychic abilities.
Some say he dabbled with demonic spirits. Did they foretell the future to him? Or perhaps they were telling him
about the misfortune they would visit upon the human race. He wrote the book as a warning to the luxury liner companies
that their rules and regulations were not working in the best interest of the people they served. No one truly knows
how it all came about, whether by spirits or just pure inevitability, but it certainly makes one stop and think.
